Where is the outrage?
When it was a white-looking Latino who shot a black man the media pumped up the racist issues. Yeah, a Jewish-Hispanic served as 'all white men'. All the race-baiters came out of the woodwork. The court has found Zimmerman innocent and he even went on to aid a distressed driver. Now he is in hiding and his parents were even threatened according to some reports.
When I read in my local newspaper yesterday about a shooting in Oklahoma of a student from Australia the story was odd in what was left out. Yes, the three alleged assailants were teenagers but their ages and names were not revealed, as might be expected, but more telling is that there has been no mention that the three were black.
"Boredom" is touted as the reason behind the shooting - not racism. Common wisdom is that, by definition, blacks cannot be racist.
Update:
Okay, I didn't post this "in the heat of the moment" but now that there is the 'knock-out' craze are there any surprised people out there?

Today's specials are ...
For a 'lousy' president, George Bush sure did a lot of stuff to still be blamed for everything. Perhaps what is really meant is to blame 'Bush' for everything that happened while G-senior was in CIA/VeeP/POTUS as well as for G-junior as gov/POTUS and including everything Jeb did in Florida. That's a bit of a stretch but goes a long way in explaining how one name could have created all the issues that plague the democrats today.
Here's a link from one of my favorite 'sticky' web sites on why we should be even angrier at the NSA for spying on law-abiding citizens (I don't care about them spying on the non-law-abiding or non-citizens.)

If you get 'stuck' on that site, don't come crying to me. Many of the 'stories' are like potato chips - caution, not all are PG-13.
This immigrationbull bill must be stopped. Please contact your representative & senators to stop this madness. We already have an immigration policy/pathway in place for legal entry to the U.S. We do not need to 'welcome' anymore people. The bill is another one of, as Pelosi so eloquently puts things, "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it." (That is working really well for Obamacare.)

Sad, sad state of affairs
It couldn't be the spoon, could it? Naw, that just makes too much sense.
http://dailycaller.com/2013/03/12/feds-pay-for-study-on-why-lesbians-are-fat/
I'd like to see a study on why our government (and all its employees) are so darned stupid. IRS apparently recently had an internal audit and found that it had paid $40 million (yes, million) for an event and no one could find any of the receipts. Talk about your $600 toilet seats and $1200 hammers. Who is watching the hen house? (Rhetorical question, I know, it's 'no one'.)
How many more major scandals are there going to be from the current Democratic administration before there is the uproar of a level that came after Watergate?
"We built this city..."
I wonder how many people who own and operate their own businesses really feel that without the federal government they would have been completely unable to prosper and grow. A show of hands please...what? Not one? Now that is a surprise. (Ayn Rand is resting peacefully.)

Senator Stabenow,
Apparently you misunderstood my position. I am not 'for' ethanol even as an interim solution. Corn is best as food for cattle not engines. Biofuels have lower energy density therefore it takes more volume to go an equivalent distance compared to gasoline. To my knowledge it is not proven that there will be fewer emissions and pollutants by using a greater volume of fuel. While you have a right to your 'belief' that biofuels will wean the U.S. from fossil fuels the facts are that this path wastes valuable agricultural land that might be used for food production and does nothing to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gasses. Merely converting other organic products to biofuels takes more energy (you don't get anything for free) and produces even more pollution than just using fossil fuels would.
As your constituent I'm requesting that you re-study the scientific facts and draw fact-based conclusions rather than relying on hope. Thank you for your time.
Jim Riddell

Dear James,
Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns about the use of ethanol. I appreciate hearing your views.Corn-based ethanol is a bridge to new, advanced biofuels that do not compete with our food supply. These next-generation biofuels convert products like native grasses, agricultural waste, and timber waste into fuel and require fewer input costs.
I believe that biofuels are a critical part of overcoming our nation's dependence on foreign oil. The Environmental Protection Agency approved the use of E15, which is a blend of gasoline and up to 15 percent ethanol, for vehicles that are model year 2001 or newer. E15 is prohibited for use in all motorcycles, off-road vehicles, heavy-duty engines, and older cars. In addition, the Environmental Protection Agency also created new fuel labeling requirements to help consumers avoid misfueling. I will continue to monitor this issue, and should related legislation come before me for a vote, I will be sure to keep your views in mind.Thank you again for contacting me. Please continue to keep me informed about issues of concern to you and your family.
Sincerely,Debbie Stabenow
United States Senator
